Acknowledgments
The editors were only able to complete the editing process because they could use the digital text of MEJ 2003 and the proofs of MEGA② I/5, corresponding to the online edition from IMEF and MEGA② I/5 editors, and had received permission to shoot high-resolution images of originals of IISH and RGASPI. They would like to express their gratitude to the IMES and MEGA② I/5 editors and the IISG and RGASPI staff for providing this series of opportunities for online editing.
The editors also obtained support from Tohoku University, Hitotsubashi University and Kagoshima University in Japan, and Tsinghua University in China so that they could hold and attend many international conferences and colloquiums and proceed with their research. In 2014 and 2015, Tsinghua University helped the editors proceed with the second stage. The six editors of the online edition note this and would like to thank the organizations concerned.
On the last stage of editing the online edition, Rolf Hecker and Ruben Kuklinski cooperated in the calibration of texts. The editors thank them for their cooperation and take responsibility for any remaining calibration mistakes. And Norihiro Yamamoto, Sirube inc (https://sirube.co.jp/) supported us in the realization of the Online Edition.
In the early stages of editing process of the online edition, Atsushi Tamaoka (Shanxi Normal University), Hau Chen (Tsinghua University), and Fugang Sheng (Wuhan University) cooperated with the editors. They were graduate students at Tohoku University at the time. The aforementioned work at Tsinghua University, involved seven graduate students (Yuan Tian, Qingchun Lin, Yisong Tian, Yang Zhou, Xudong Wang, Yanxiao Liang, and Kaiyuan Hong). The six editors of the online edition were all professors at the beginning of this project – four have since retired. The editors would like to express their sincere gratitude to those young researchers who participated in the establishment of the online edition and hope simultaneously that they inspire a new style in Marx and Engels scholarship as the first users of the online edition.
This online edition was supported by Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS), Grant-in Aid for Scientific Research (B), 2018-2020, 18H000834, Shunichi KUBO.
